Visual Arts

Amy Fell, Artist

Amy is an independent artist with a studio located in the Artist Collective at PARC. She is a contemporary realist painter.

Art Foundation

Tony Roko is an independent artist in his own studio in room 115a at PARC. From factory floors to gallery walls, Roko’s signature portraits celebrate the human figure with vivid, brilliant colors inspired by Detroit’s industrial past. Roko was selected to create a series of paintings to act as the new face of Atwater Brewery, bringing the Detroit company’s signature brews and spirits to 30 states and European markets. Most recently, Tony has partnered with Wolverine Human Service to form the Art Foundation, a non-profit organization fostering creative minds for at-risk children.

Barick Design Studio

Nancy Barick is the owner of Art Club at Barick Design Studio located in room 215 A at PARC. She teaches painting lessons and hosts painting parties for small groups of all ages.

Central PARC Art Studios

Leslie Greeneisen is the owner and operator of Central PARC Art Studios located in room 116 at PARC. The Central PARC Art Studios have classes, workshops, and single-session events for beginning to experienced potters or all ages.

Diorama Productions

Aaron Martin is the owner of Diorama Productions is located in room 217 at PARC.  Aaron is a documentary filmmaker whose work has been featured on Detroit Public Television, as well as other venues.

Kriskraf Photography

Located in 212 at PARC, Kriskraf Photography is owned and operated by Krisjan Krafchak. He is an independent photographer that photographs senior pictures, businesses, families, and more.

Music

Downtown Music Academy

Downtown Music Academy is located in Suite 100B in PARC. They have well-trained and experienced musicians who understand that a student is an individual and no two are the same. They have private and group lessons for all ages.

In the Band Music Appreciation Studio

Nick Brandon is the owner of In the Band located in room 202 at PARC. This is a non-profit organization that was created to provide community and support for growing creators and appreciators of music in the Plymouth-Canton Area.

Most participants are in their teens and early twenties. They held 7 “showcase” performance at PARC in 2017.

Michigan Philharmonic

The Michigan Philharmonic offers exciting opportunities to provide culturally enriching and educational programming in Plymouth, Canton and surrounding communities. The orchestra plays a full season of concerts from September to May, with several special concerts and events throughout the year.

They held two major concerts at PARC in 2017.

Michigan Philharmonic Youth Orchestra

The Michigan Philharmonic Youth Orchestra provides a unique, enriching and exciting musical experience for aspiring young players throughout Southeastern Michigan, especially in the Plymouth, Canton, Northville, Novi, Belleville, Westland and other areas of Western Wayne County. The MPYO currently offers a full program of three orchestras and a flute choir, a wind ensemble and yearly side-by-side performances with the professional musicians of the Michigan Philharmonic.

There are approximately 140 participants, and they performed at PARC two times in 2017.

 Qyteti Music Studio

Hektor Qyteti has taught private violin lessons since 1997. He previously taught at Evola Music, and currently teaches at PARC in room 110. Hektor also plays with the Michigan Philharmonic and is the conductor for the Michigan Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. His integrative teaching style features three elements: a scale or other technical exercise, a primary piece, and music theory instruction

 Performing Arts

Artistry Dance

Artistry Dance has an office located in 219A and studios in 213 & 214 at PARC.  Artistry Dance Studio offers a variety of classes for kids and adults. The studio focuses on technique and alignment, choreography, and performance art as opposed to competitive dance. It is proudly owned and operated by Sara Malloy and Jeanmarie Mathewson.

Forever After Productions

Located in Suite 107 at PARC, Forever After Production’s mission is to provide quality performing arts education and family-friendly entertainment for the families of Southeast Michigan. Through the performing arts, Forever After aims to foster creativity, responsibility, and confidence in its participants, and create a supportive community where families can learn and grow together. Forever After strives to create a fun, exciting, and meaningful experience for all the individuals whose lives they touch.

Forever After staged 10 shows at PARC in 2017 for a total of approximately 50 performances.

Main Street Opera Theatre

Main Street Opera Theatre is located in Suite 204 at PARC. Main Street Productions provide everyone with the opportunity to participate in and enjoy theatrical performances by presenting fully staged professional opera, and other theatrical productions of the highest quality.

MSOT performed at PARC 10 times in 2017, including 2 frees shows during the Plymouth Ice Festival. They will be offering 4 free family friendly shows during the 2018 Ice Festival.

The Mitten Theater

The Mitten Theater is located in the Band Room at PARC. It was created to bring improvised comedy, and more to downtown Plymouth. There are shows appropriate for adults and children.

The Mitten Theater began holding weekend shows at PARC in September, 2017.

Education

College for Creative Studies

College for Creative Studies (CCS) brought its world-renowned curriculum to PARC-Plymouth Arts & Recreation Complex through a generous grant from the Margaret Dunning Foundation to start a program designed for teens and provide hands-on learning in the fields of automotive design, communication design, and product design. CCS now has 3 classrooms located on the 3rd floor of PARC.  In addition, the grant will allow CCS to offer several Continuing Education Classes for both youth and adults, as well as dual enrollment for local area high school students.

Plymouth Christian Academy (PCA) Robotics Team

PCA students meet at PARC to learn to build a robot from a common kit of parts, which typically weighs up to 150 lbs. Engineering mentors, consisting of PCA parents and alumni, guide students through the construction process. The PCA Robotics Team participates in the FIRST Robotics Competition (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) program with more than 68,000 high school competitors. Regional competitions begin in early March with National Championships in April. Participation in Robotics is a great avenue to open opportunities for a college scholarship.

Participants are High School students ages 14 to 18.

Fitness

PARC Aquatics (PARC program)

PARC Aquatics is the swim program located within PARC.  They have certified staff that teach high quality swim lessons and workout classes. There are swim lessons and workout classes available for adults and children of all ages.

Z Spot Fitness Studio

Z Spot Fitness Studio, located in the PARC Annex and PARC Studio, offers a large variety of exciting group fitness classes from the latest trends in fitness or from our own signature formats suitable for every fitness level that emphasizes cardiovascular endurance, strength and endurance, and flexibility training. They also offer personal training and small group training to add more variety and enhance your fitness routine.

Z Spot has over 300 participants ages 13 to 75+

Culinary Arts

Proud Mitten Shared Kitchen

Proud Mitten Shared Kitchen offers guidance in helping businesses grow their product, expand their market and gain access to the Michigan Food Community where other similar businesses share ideas and network.

The Simple Kitchen

The Simple Kitchen is located in the Home Economics room at PARC. The Simple Kitchen specializes in small group culinary classes for both children and adults, intimate, personalized catering events & meals, and edible gifts.

Recreation

PARC Line Dancing

Line Dancing is a group that offers Line Dancing lessons and classes to everyone in the surrounding communities.

Pickleball (PARC Program)

Pickleball is the wildly popular sport played on a badminton-sized court with a lower net, using a wooden paddle and plastic ball. It can be played as singles or doubles. PARC is the only place to play Pickleball in Plymouth.

On average, there are 50-60 participants per week ages 45+

Plymouth-Canton Cruisers

The Plymouth-Canton Cruisers is the development swim team for area youth. They hold regular swim practice in the PARC swimming pool.

The Plymouth-Canton Steelers

The Plymouth-Canton Steelers is youth football and cheer. The team is in its 41st season. They practice and hold games on the football fields at PARC.

Rotary Club of Plymouth A.M.

Rotary Club of Plymouth A.M. meets in room 112 @ PARC on Tuesdays at 7:00 am. Their mission is to positively impact the local and international communities by recruiting, retaining, and mobilizing a high-caliber volunteer force that amply and energetically gives of its collective time, treasure and talent.
